Arabic - for children only
DEI programmes offer the opportunity to take language studies from Beginners course through to Advanced standard. Certificates attested by the Ministry of Education are issued after completing 42 hours (two courses). Arabic as a foreign language for children outline.
Reading and Writing Skills
- They will finalize most of the Arabic alphabet.
- Recognition of letter sounds related to words.
- Reading Methods
- Systematically through spelling the word which includes letters, covered.
- Recognition of familiar words, greetings and expressions via flash cards.
- No emphasis on writing skills, recognition of the letter sound and shape, the
letter being emphasized via drawing in the same manner as a child draws any picture.
- Conversation Skills
- To express themselves via simple short sentences based on questions and answers related to their daily routine at home and in school.
- To enrich their vocabulary via words related to letter sounds to be used in sentences with learning themes that relate to their age bracket
- Learning to read and memorize greetings, expressions and familiar words via flash cards.
- Sentence Structure
- It is introduced informally via class activities, flash cards, puzzles, songs and colour code
- Acting the concepts of verbs taught so as to reintroduce the learning procedure and objectives
- Cultural Themes
Make the students aware of culture attached to the Arab World and their studies.

Adult European Languages
Public Courses: Our Public courses are generally run every four to six weeks. All of our courses are 30 hours in duration and classes are held for 2 hours, twice a week.
Morning:
9.00 a.m.11.00 a.m. and or 9.30 a.m.11.30 a.m.
Lunch time:
1.30 p.m. 3.30 p.m.
Evening:
7.00 p.m. 8.30 p.m.
All the course materials are provided by the centre at a separate cost and the course fees start from 1950 AED/- (30 hours)- per student.
Private / Semi-Private Courses
For those who are unable to attend the scheduled Public Courses or wish to have a course structured towards their specific requirements, we are able to arrange private tuition. Classes are conducted on a one to one basis with the teacher and timings are arranged to suit the needs of the individual, between 9.00 am and 8.00 pm.
Classes are normally held for 1.5 or 2 hours twice a week but a more intensive schedule can also be arranged. Semi-private classes are conducted on the same basis with 2 people studying at the same time.
The hourly rate is from AED 200/- for private tuition and from AED 110/- per hour per student for semi-private tuition with a material charge from AED 200/-. Intensive courses to be quoted on request but are usually on a private hourly rate.
All courses are held at DEI School of Languages.
In-House Courses
We offer our courses to corporate clients, the classes can be held at the company premises, alternatively, if the company lacks sufficient training facilities, courses may be held on our premises. Proposals to be quoted on request, and it is based on number of hours and participants per group.
Arabic children classes
The academic year is divided into three terms and we also offer a summer schedule.
September - December / January - March / April - June / July - August (Summer school)
We need a minimium of 6 children to run the class AED 85 per hour based on Academic School Year.
Conversational Arabic
No books only 1 hour of fun!!! Get the kids to speak and use the Arabic Language, They are learning in a fun and “non-school” environment.

Baby Arabia - Age group 5 months t- 3 years
A mix of stories, singing and sounds & words, in a fun class held in Arabic, that get you communicating linguistically with your little ones. A must for mums, who want a baby group that encourages Arabic from the beginning and teaches songs, nursery rhymes& stories that, can be taken home with you. Babies will boost their language skills, develop confidence and make friends (definitely the same applies to mums!)
Arabic
Arabic is taught using the Maliha Wehbe method utilising her series of books written by herself and Maha Jayyusi called Lugat al-Arab, comprised of 4 books & a series of conversational books to support.
DEI also uses the help of other publications for teaching Arabic.

“dar el-ilm” School of Languages (DEI) is pleased to inform you of its upcoming new term commencing 2nd January 2010 for our children’s classes and 10th January 2010 for Adults courses.
All of our Foreign Language courses will run for the duration of seven and a half weeks (please see the schedule below). The fee for each of our 30-hour courses is AED 1,950.00/- & an extra charge for the course material.

Once registration is confirmed then payment needs to be made one week before the course commences to guarantee the place. Please register early to avoid disappointment. Only payment will guarantee registration. You can settle your payment from Saturday – Wednesday 9.00 am-7.00 p.m. & Thursday 9.00 am – 2.00 pm by cash or cheque.
